Welcome to the website of InterCommunity Cancer Institute. If you are a patient, a friend or family member of a potential patient, we want you to know that we are not just a radiation treatment facility. We are a leader in providing the most comprehensive and technologically advanced treatment of cancer. While our medical specialty is radiation treatment, we ensure that prior to proceeding with treatment you are provided all possible treatment alternatives including surgery, chemotherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (“IMRT”), image guide radiation therapy (“IGRT”), high intensity brachytherapy (“HDR”), bracytherapy seed implant for prostate and breast cancer.

 

InterCommunity Cancer Insitute is one of a network of three affiliated Cancer Centers in Central Florida . Our oldest location was founded in 1985 as Lake County’s first Cancer Center.  InterCommunity Cancer Institute opened in 2006 and is located on the campus of South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida.

 

At InterCommunity Cancer Institute, our outstanding physicians provide medical services in affiliation with the InterCommunity Cancer Centers network and several hospitals. However, our physicians are independent. Their clinical decisions and treatment recommendations are not impaired or restricted by any drug company or large institution as may be the case with hospital based programs. We are dedicated to providing you the absolute best and most effective treatment available with today’s technology.

 

From the beginning, our commitment to excellence grew from Dr. Hal Jacobson’s personal dedication to provide patients of Central Florida access to the most technological advanced treatments.  The InterCommunity Cancer Centers network was one of the first to provide in Central Florida:

2.	We will clearly explain when treatments are for Cure and when they are solely for managing the disease and improving the Quality of Life.
3.	We will provide superior patient consultation by understanding each patient’s special needs and providing information as to treatment options and treatment results experienced by other patients.
4.	We will diligently and meticulously develop the very best patient treatment plans.
5.	We will strive to commence patient treatment within no less than two weeks following initial patient consultation.
6.	We will employ proven leading edge technology.
7.	We will precisely deliver treatments to each patient’s targeted disease site.
8.	We will provide exceptional patient care by providing formal comprehensive weekly patient consultations and be available on call for any patient needs during the course of treatment; and periodic follow-up consultation after treatment is complete.
